Our Doctor of Philosophy in Theological Studies (Ph.D.) is a research program designed for learners interested in teaching and research and aspire to contribute to scholarship in specific areas of Theological studies to make disciples for Christ.
As an institution founded upon Biblical Christian truth, Resurrection Power University subscribes to the scripture concerning Jesus Christ:
“In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:3).
As a result, our Ph.D. program welcomes learners from diverse theological and non-theological backgrounds. Learners may choose to explore the biblical foundation of their previous or present academic and professional areas as service to God through humanity. All non-theology background students must complete all recommended foundational coursework in Theological studies, Research, and write a supervised dissertation. In addition to the traditional Theology, Divinity, and Ministry, the cognate areas covered at RPU include Theology of Technology and Science, Cyberspace Theology and Media Ministry, as well as Creation and End-Time Studies with special emphasis on the second coming of Jesus Christ. Note that although we have taken the initial steps toward the application for accreditation, Resurrection Power University is not accredited by any agency that the US Department of Education recognizes.
Admission Requirements
The program seeks to admit advanced Doctoral scholars with non-theology backgrounds who, upon successful completion of foundational Theology courses, would proceed with dissertation research that would align their previous background professional and academic areas to Theological perspectives. To be admitted to our Doctoral program, a student must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree or one of the following qualifications:
All-but-dissertation (ABD) Doctoral Candidates from regionally or nationally accredited institutions may be acceptable (May be completed in 18 months)
